磁性地層與新生代沉積

主要從事過去全球變化方向沙漠形成和演化研究，對我國西北主要沙漠的形成和演化歷史有深入的了解，負(fù)責(zé)組織和實(shí)施了“中國沙漠鉆探計(jì)劃”WEDP01鉆孔的野外巖心鉆探、年代學(xué)、沉積學(xué)、古環(huán)境代用指標(biāo)的測試和分析。對騰格里沙漠的形成給出了確切的年代，成果發(fā)表在Quaternary Science Reviews雜志上。
