這是一套為全國(guó)英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科一、二年級(jí)學(xué)生編寫(xiě)的英語(yǔ)泛讀教材。全套共分為四冊(cè),供第一、第二學(xué)年計(jì)四個(gè)學(xué)期使用。
什么是泛讀?應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)家的定義是:泛讀就是大量地閱讀。閱讀者對(duì)所讀的材料不必面面俱到。泛讀旨在培養(yǎng)學(xué)習(xí)者良好的閱讀習(xí)慣,學(xué)習(xí)者通過(guò)閱讀不斷積累詞匯和語(yǔ)言結(jié)構(gòu)知識(shí),提高對(duì)閱讀的興趣(Richards
et al.1985)。
誠(chéng)然,泛讀的基本意義就是多讀,以增加對(duì)目的語(yǔ)的語(yǔ)感,這一點(diǎn)對(duì)初級(jí)語(yǔ)言水平的學(xué)習(xí)者十分重要。而對(duì)中、高級(jí)語(yǔ)言水平的學(xué)習(xí)者而言,通過(guò)閱讀來(lái)積累目的語(yǔ)的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)依然十分重要,但是他們要學(xué)會(huì)在一個(gè)更高的層次上來(lái)習(xí)得目的語(yǔ),要學(xué)會(huì)總結(jié)、歸納文章作者的思想和觀點(diǎn)并與自己的思想和觀點(diǎn)融合在一起,也就是說(shuō)要學(xué)會(huì)通過(guò)閱讀來(lái)總結(jié)和發(fā)展自己的觀點(diǎn),只有這樣學(xué)習(xí)者才能更好、更有效地習(xí)得目的語(yǔ)!
