陳德民主編的《高級(jí)閱讀教程》第四版是為培養(yǎng)和提高學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)報(bào)刊閱讀能力并進(jìn)而加強(qiáng)和鞏固英語(yǔ)口譯能力而編寫(xiě)的。第四版的編寫(xiě)原則和體例與前三版基本相同，替換的文章占全書(shū)的五分之二，多為近兩年發(fā)表在英美報(bào)刊雜志上的文章，選材的渠道有所拓展，主題也更為廣泛了。讀者應(yīng)具有中級(jí)以上英語(yǔ)水平，在經(jīng)過(guò)一個(gè)階段的學(xué)習(xí)后，一般應(yīng)能達(dá)到或基本達(dá)到“英語(yǔ)高級(jí)口譯證書(shū)考試大綱”對(duì)英語(yǔ)報(bào)刊閱讀能力的要求。
