     康拉德對小說情節(jié)極為重視，他的多部小說體現出一種相對穩(wěn)定的悲劇情節(jié)模式，人物行為和小說敘事因這種悲劇模式而獲得意義。但同時，本書通過間接敘事形成雙重情節(jié)，并利用雙重情節(jié)對情節(jié)構造的本質進行思考。對他的小說情節(jié)進行綜合宏觀的研究，可以更好地揭示康拉德獨特的藝術成就。
